The duo is made up of composer Ayase and vocalist Ikura. YOASOBI is known as the “unit that turns novels into music.”

YOASOBI is a well-known music group when it comes to anime. They’ve been chosen to write and record several opening songs for shows like “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” and most recently in 2023, “Oshinoko.”

The opening song “Idol” surpassed 200 million plays in just 28 days. The song took over the charts on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and Amazon Music. The music video now has over 430 million views on YouTube.

“Idol” became the No. 1 song on Billboard Global, excluding the U.S., for many weeks.

YOASOBI has over 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify with “Idol” having nearly 300 million streams on Spotify alone.

The song launched YOASOBI into the international music world. Their first U.S. performance was in August 2023 at “Head In The Clouds Los Angeles.” Their next performance will be at the Coachella Music Festival.

YOASOBI will then be performing in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Tickets are now being resold on AXS for the SF concert in April — resale tickets starting at $849.
