A Japanese woman sold her husband’s collectible Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards in an online auction after finding out he cheated on her.
The bid started at less than a cent for the 26 boxes of cards last Saturday, SoraNews24 reported.
Of the 26, 25 were unopened. The boxes contained limited-edition booster sets, including Magic Ruler, Pharaoh’s Servant, Curse of Anubis, Mythological Age, Thousand Eyes Bible and Spell of Mask.
In her first post to the Yahoo! Auctions community, the wife expressed she simply wanted a fair deal for the cards following her husband’s unfaithfulness.
Under the username dnlay04438, she expressed her uncertainty in the value of the cards and the game itself and was only able to guarantee they were not damaged.
“As an act of revenge against my husband for cheating on me, I have decided to sell his collection,” she wrote. “The items are unopened, so I’d be happy if I can get a good price for these.”
The collection had 350 bids, ending at 20,503,000 yen ($188,220), reported Kotaku.
