Jason Momoa Kisses His Khal Drogo Beard Goodbye

It's shearing season.

Never one to miss out on the theatrics of a bittersweet ending, Game of Thrones alum (and Aquaman star) Jason Momoa wrapped up a season of his own by shaving his face for the first time in seven years. Momoa posted a video to his YouTube account of himself and a likewise bewhiskered friend buzzing off their hard-earned beards to the soothing sounds of some new-age-y spa music.

”Goodbye, Drogo! Goodbye, Arthur Curry!” Momoa shouts, ceremoniously tossing the shorn scraps of his beard into the wilderness.

Momoa also took this opportunity to officially endorse aluminum, which he explains, mid-shave, is 100% recyclable and also the key to saving our planet. (But he doesn’t wanna bitch about it.) Oh, and he's also promoting a new product: Canned water.

And now the video has gone viral. Well played, sir. And it raises a good point: Maybe it's time for the oversized beards to come off, gentlemen. They've had a good run since 2013. It might be time to try something new.

(Luckily for us all, the locks on top of Momoa’s head are safe and sound, nestled in a scrunchie lest they get caught in the razor’s crossfire.)

Conversely, if you couldn't get enough of Momoa's beard and are now mourning its loss, it might be time for you to grow one of your own. There are a few techniques involved—aside from waiting a really long time for the hair to grow out and starting with good bone structure.
