STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football has added a pair of commits to its 2024 recruiting class in a span of 24 hours. Jay Lindsey, a 247Sports three-star tight end, announced his commitment on Sunday night. Matthew Mayfield, an unrated receiver, followed it up with his commitment Monday.

The commitments come after MSU hosted its spring game on Saturday during Super Bulldog Weekend.

Lindsey is a native of Butler, Alabama, and attends Patrician Academy. He is the fourth commitment of the upcoming class for coach Zach Arnett and the first tight end. MSU hasn't had a high school enrollee at the position since the 2018 recruiting class.
