What Did You Miss?

The Wanted singer Jay McGuiness joined stand-in presenter Ranvir Singh on Lorraine on Monday (12 February).

It's now approaching two years since his bandmate Tom Parker sadly passed away from a brain tumour, and during their chat, Singh mentioned of McGuiness' touching keepsake: "You have a keyring don't you, that I believe you take everywhere with you..."

He then went on to explain how it reminds him of the pop group's unbreakable bond, despite Parker not being here anymore.

What, how and why?

"Yeah, I've got a little pepper spray on there aswell, because I'm not a big lad," smiled McGuiness. "You've gotta be safe out there haven't you.

"It's just to remember [Parker] and it's a nice reminder. We were together as a squad for so long and you do sort of become brothers in the most tight way, and that will never change. What a good boy he was - such a good boy."

Parker was part of the five-piece band (including Max George, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes) from 2009 until his death, while McGuiness and The Wanted haven't performed together since.

What else happened on Lorraine?

Meanwhile, McGuiness also revealed on the talkshow how one of his bandmates stands out as the glue that keeps them in touch. "Max is really good," he told Singh. "This week he messaged us and said, 'Boys we haven't spoke for a month, this is not OK...'

"He's a good boy and he reminds us to keep tabs on each other. We go and watch each other [in their respective productions, such as Strictly Come Dancing], we love watching each other. I do think that everything that happened sort of put a lot into perspective."

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV.
