Jay Wasson sues Audrain Co. hospital for $500K

Jay Wasson is suing Noble Health Audrain for the return of half a million dollars he lent them in February 2022.

Wasson, of Nixa, previously served in the state legislature and recently headed an unsuccessful campaign for a seat in Congress.

Both Noble Health Audrain, Inc., and William A. Solomon of Overland Park, Kansas, are listed as defendants in the court documents.

The petition says that on or around Feb. 17, 2022, Noble Health received a demand promissory note for $500,000. A demand promissory note is a legal agreement where the borrower promises to repay money when the lender demands, as opposed to on a specific date.

According to the petition, Solomon guaranteed full and timely payment, but Noble Health defaulted in payment.

The petition asks for the amount owed plus "pre-judgement interest, post-judgement interest, attorney fees and collection costs, and for such other relief as the Court deems proper."

Wasson did not return a request for comment on Tuesday.

Noble Health Audrain, Inc. is one of the rural Missouri hospitals bought by the startup Noble Health, which is run by private equity and venture capital group Nuterra Capital. Both the Audrain hospital and the hospital in Callaway closed in March due to IT issues and, later, restructuring to keep the hospitals financially viable, according to social media posts.
