Jayson Tatum: ‘We’re just a different team’ with Robert Williams III on the court

With big man Robert Williams III back in the fold for the Boston Celtics in their Tuesday night tilt with the Sacramento Kings, the action on the court went much better for Boston.

“Obviously we’re a lot bigger when he’s out there,” teammate Jayson Tatum said after the win via MassLive’s Souichi Terada. “It just makes us much more dynamic.

“His presence, even if he’s not blocking shots, maybe he’s turning people away from attacking the basket. He’s grabbing rebounds, giving us second or third opportunities (and is) obviously a lob threat.”

“Having the starters and having Rob back makes us — we’re just a different team,” explained the St. Louis native.

The evidence on the court is hard to argue with: Boston put together one of its most dominant outings against a top team in quite some time.

Now the issue becomes whether the Celtics can keep it up with nine games left and three teams battling for the top three playoff seeds. All three teams (Boston, the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks) play one another at least once before the postseason arrives.
