JCP&L plans electrical outage overnight in Brick

BRICK - A planned electrical outage will impact Jersey Central Power and Light customers in the Cedar Bridge Manor section of the township overnight, according to police.

An estimated 250 customers (homes and businesses) will be without power for several hours between 11 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday, police said in a statement.

The reason for the outage is that JCP&L crews are moving power lines to new utility poles in support of an Ocean County bridge construction project on Hooper Avenue, near Manor Drive and Mantoloking Road, police said.

Traffic lights are not expected to be affected but Brick police officers will be on the scene to ensure the safety of motorists and the rest of the public, police said.

JCP&L has sent reverse telephone notifications to all customers expected to be affected by the outage, according to the statement.
