Jefferson County Public Schools will end classes early on Friday amid snow showers in the Louisville area.

Classes will be dismissed for middle and high school students at 11:45 a.m., according to the district, with elementary and early childhood students to be let out at 1:15 p.m. Buses will run for all students, according to JCPS, and all after-school extracurricular activities are canceled.

Catholic schools in the city will release early as well, according to the Archdiocese of Louisville. Secondary schools will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. while elementary schools will determine their dismissal procedures and will release their plans individually.

Bullitt County Public Schools will also dismiss students two hours early, the district said. Several other local school districts – Oldham County Schools, Henry County Public Schools, Shelby County Public Schools, Spencer County Public Schools and Taylor County Schools – were not in session on Friday.

Hardin County Schools will also let out early, the district said. Elementary students will be released at noon, middle school students will be let out at 12:45 p.m. and high school students will be released at about 1:30 p.m.
