When did Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp start making music together?

Beck grew up in Wallington, England and was surrounded by music from a young age. Beck replaced Eric Clapton as The Yardbirds’ lead guitarist in 1965 and later formed The Jeff Beck Group, which featured Rod Stewart on vocals and Ron Wood on bass.

Beck has been recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." He's won eight Grammy Awards and has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame twice, once as a member of The Yardbirds and again as a solo artist.

Depp is an American actor and producer known for the "Pirates of the Caribbean" film series and the movies "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Edward Scissorhands," and "Alice in Wonderland." He's received multiple accolades, including a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Depp has also been nominated for three Academy Awards and two BAFTA awards.

He was recently involved in a high-profile legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard and has been working to restore his acting career.

Depp announced his plans to join Beck for most of his North American tour on Sept. 1. The duo has teamed up on various projects over the years, but their first official release was a cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation" in 2020. Their full-length album titled "18" was released on July 15.

In August, the duo came under fire for their song “Sad Motherf–in’ Parade” after being accused of plagiarizing a 1974 poem by Bruce Jackson without crediting the writer.

Beck will kick off the tour in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 1 and Depp will join the tour in Washington D.C. on October 4.
