Jeff Hammond appointed director of Salina Parks and Rec

After serving as interim director since October 2021, Jeff Hammond has been appointed to be the director of Salina Parks and Recreation by City Manager Mike Schrage.

Hammond has served as deputy director in the department since 2019 and has been with the department since 2016.

He is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional and has a bachelor's degree in sports management from Bowling Green State University and a master's degree in recreation administration from the University of Toledo.

Schrage said after a national search, Hammond emerged as the top candidate.

"Jeff is well rounded with his private and public sector experience," Schrage said. "He joined our organization in 2016, and since that time, has applied his leadership in aquatics, recreation, facilities, special events, and budget management. We are excited to have Jeff continue his professional journey within our organization.”
