The Jeffersontown Beer Festival is almost here: Here's what you need to know

Bottoms up! The Jeffersontown Craft Beer Festival returns Saturday to downtown Jeffersontown for its seventh year and tickets are on sale now.

Here's what to know about the festival:

What is the Jeffersontown Beer Festival?

The hops celebration, presented by the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce, will feature more than 50 craft breweries, hard seltzers, wines, food trucks, games and live music. The festivity will take place rain or shine, according to organizers. Individuals will also have an opportunity to engage in a "meet and greet" with the owners and brewmasters.

“This year’s Beer Fest is our opportunity to reconnect with the community and really acknowledge and celebrate the craft beer industry," said Deana Karem, president and CEO of the Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce. "It is one of the iconic industries for our region and we are honored to be host to an event that brings them together.”

Cox's Spirit Shoppe and Smoker's Outlet, one of the sponsors of the event, said the event is "a great way for us to connect with our customers," according to Mike Fisk, the company's chief of sales and marketing officer.

"The beer fest has become a staple each summer and we look forward to enjoying a beer this Saturday with everyone," he said.

Where and when is the festival taking place?

The festival will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Gaslight Pavilion, 10434 Watterson Trail. The nearby parking lot belonging to 3rd Turn Brewing, 10408 Watterson Trail, will also be used to accommodate attendees.

Greg Hayden, shareholder and operator of 3rd Turn Brewing, said the yearly event has become one the local brewery looks forward to each summer.

"3rd Turn Brewing has become a part of this festival in more ways than just sampling, as the event has grown to include our parking lot," he said. "Over the past seven years this event has become more popular and has grown every year. 3rd Turn is happy to partner with Jeffersontown Chamber of Commerce for this public event."

The festival has also provided a platform for first-year vendor Craft House Pizza to promote its brand of beer.

“All we can say is that our group is ready to rock it with good people and good brews," the company told The Courier Journal in a statement. "We will be featuring our saison, red ale and IPA."

What are the do's and don'ts?

No one under the age of 21 will be permitted on the premises, including designated drivers. Unless it's a service animal and labeled as such, pets will not be allowed on the property. Strollers of any kind are also prohibited.

How much are tickets for the event?

Tickets can be purchased in advance at select Cox's Corner and Evergreen Liquors locations for $40. There's also an option to pre-purchase tickets online for an additional $5.

Tickets, if still available, will cost $50 at the door. There's also an online special that includes a four pack of tickets for $160.

Based on the 2,500 or so tickets that have already been sold, event co-organizer Trevor Cravens is anticipating a sellout crowd.

"Ticket sales are on pace with 2021 ... there are approximately 200 tickets left at the Cox’s Ruckreigel and Evergreen Middletown stores," Cravens said earlier this week. "We will have a limited number available online and at the gate until we are completely sold out, but the Cox’s ticket buyers save online fees."
