Jenkins powers Windham

Dec. 29—WILLIMANTIC — Aniyah Jenkins scored a career- high 25 points — shooting 8- of- 13 from the floor — leading the Windham girls basketball team to a 55-31 non-conference victory Tuesday over Windham Tech.

Jaelize Rivera added 10 points, six steals and three assists for the Whips ( 4- 0). Hailey Flores had nine points and Alyssa Lebiszcak added seven points and six rebounds.

The Lady Tigers fell to 4-2.

In other games ... Charlotte Jordan led all scorers with 19 points as Coventry rolled to a 62-13 non-conference victory over Parish Hill at the Matthew J. Hurlock Gymnasium.

Jianna Foran added 18 points with eight rebounds and six steals for the Patriots (4-3), who raced out to a 18-2 first-quarter lead.

Celia Cuhna had eight points and Emma Smith scored seven.

Maddie Woodward and Danielle Houle scored their first career varsity points for the Pirates (2-4).

Lyman Memorial turned up the defense in the second quarter — holding Westbrook to one field goal — in a 55-21 non-conference victory over Westbrook in Lebanon.

Jenny Lopez scored 23 points with five steals and four assists for the Bulldogs (2-3), who turned a 11-10 first-quarter deficit into a 28-13 halftime lead.

Phoebe Carpenter recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and also had two blocks in the win while Kassidy LaTour added 10 rebounds, four steals and six blocks.

Adriana Shanier led the Knights ( 1- 3) with nine points.

Lilli Clark led three players in double figures with 21 points and E.O. Smith outscored Kolbe Cathedral 33-12 in the second half to remain undefeated with a 60-31 non-conference victory in Storrs.

Maddie Hughes added 13 points and Paige Raynor had 10 for the Panthers (4-0).

Clark ( 7), Hughes ( 6) and Raynor (7) combined to score all 20 points in the third quarter when E.O. Smith turned a 27-19 halftime advantage into a 47-24 lead heading into the final eight minutes.

Angela Campbell paced the Cougars ( 4- 2) with eight points.
