JENNIE: Augusta Mini Theatre presents poetry show, offers classes

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF)– The Augusta Mini Theatre is bringing back its January show to celebrate Black History Month and its coming up on Sunday, February 18th.

Jena Ja’whann is the director of Modern Dance at Augusta Mini Theatre.

“It’s a show where both the students, the actors, and the audience are getting to learn kind of together. So it has a first part that really gets to our roots and kind of, you know, our transition from being taken from Africa and brought over. But then we really get to see the progression of how our people have worked through the years, through our challenges and grown. And ultimately, what we get to see in the end is, really the strong point that the current generation is not lost. So it takes the strength of the elders, it takes the strength of the youth. And so that’s what the show is about with the incorporation of songs and some dancing and of course, acting. It really is a full experience.”

Once again, the show is coming up this Sunday, February the 18th at the AMT black box theatre on Deans Bridge Road. Showtime is 3:00pm
