Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney Are Reportedly Honeymooning at a Luxe Indonesian Resort

Jennifer Lawrence and her new husband, Cooke Maroney, reportedly jetted off to a remote part of Indonesia to enjoy a tranquil honeymoon after their star-studded nuptials in Rhode Island. People reports that the Oscar-winning actress and the art dealer spent time at Nihi Sumba, a luxurious and sprawling resort that has proven to be a celebrity favorite.

Nihi Sumba features 33 villas set on 530 private acres boasting plunge pools, surfing, and unrivaled oceanfront views. Lawrence and Maroney reportedly opted for an even more luxe experience, staying at the private home of the resort's owner, Chris Burch. The Daily Mail notes that the five-villa residence, known as Mendaka, runs $12,745 a night. Christian Bale reportedly stayed at the residence last year, and Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter held their wedding at the resort in 2018.

According to People, the newlyweds went horseback riding and visited nearby Sumbanese villages during their stay. Other activities on offer at the property include the seaside massages offered at the resort's spa, Nihi Oka, and several water activities from paddleboarding to snorkeling to kayaking.

American surfer Claude Graves and his wife founded the property, but it wasn't until they paired up with Burch and hotelier James McBride in 2012 that they were able to transform the property into the destination it is today, People adds.

Their honeymoon locale is no surprise considering the grandeur of their wedding venue. Their mid-October nuptials were held at the Belcourt of Newport estate, which was inspired by Louis XIII’s hunting lodge at Versailles. And their rehearsal dinner, held on Rose Island, saw guests, including Kris Jenner, Adele and Emma Stone, take private water taxis to and from the secluded spot.
