Jennifer Lawrence Marries Cooke Maroney in New England Wedding: Details

Jennifer Lawrence’s wedding day has, at last, arrived. The Oscar-winning actress and her new husband, Cooke Maroney, married in a New England wedding ceremony on Saturday, October 19, which also happens to be the most popular wedding date of the year.

Maroney and Lawrence’s wedding marks yet another milestone in the hyper-private pair’s romance. After first being spotted together in June 2018, the couple quietly got engaged in February 2019 and celebrated their newfound relationship status months later in New York City with their loved ones.

While Lawrence and Maroney have kept the majority of their relationship out of the public eye, the Silver Linings Playbook star did offer up some details about her wedding vision and registry picks in the months leading up to the ceremony, revealing that she wanted a relaxed celebration with her closest family members and friends. People reported Saturday that the bride wore Christian Dior, the French fashion house where she has long served as an ambassador since breaking out in Hollywood.

Below, find all the details from Cooke Maroney and Jennifer Lawrence’s wedding day.

Jennifer Lawrence’s Wedding Dress

People Magazine reports that Lawrence wore a Dior wedding dress for the ceremony. The actress has been a celebrity ambassador for the luxury brand since 2012, even giving Dior a moment of virality after tripping as she accepted an Oscar. She is currently the face of their “Joy” fragrance line.

The Wedding Venue

The couple hosted their loved ones at Belcourt of Newport, a historic mansion on the coast of Rhode Island. The $40,000 house is known for having a colorful history. Not only was it the setting for scandalous affairs in the late 1800s, it later became raucous a party destination in the 1990s. The estate also served as a summer getaway cottage for prosperous families like the Vanderbilts and Astors.

Today, the chateau is open for tourists to get a glimpse of its sprawling courtyards and ballrooms—it even hosts ghosts (supposedly) and murder-mystery tours.

The Guest List

Lawrence and Maroney invited 150 chosen ones to experience their special day. Stars like Kris Jenner, Amy Schumer, Emma Stone, Elizabeth Olsen and Adele were all included on the guest list. Fans parked outside the wedding venue to catch a glimpse of the A-list crowd.

The Menu

TMZ reported that guests enjoyed a variety of hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, including sweet potato flat cakes, brussels sprouts, smoked pork belly with pickled apple and salt cod beignet. Dinner was a choice of wood-roasted fish or five-week-aged leg of beef with forager’s sauce.

Those with a sweet tooth indulged in the couple’s decadent dessert menu. Offerings included fire-baked sourdough bread pudding with chocolate, salted caramel and fresh apple, cauldron fritters with bourbon cream and cinnamon sugar and house-made marshmallow s’mores.

The newlyweds capped off their menu with a selection of custom cocktails, including the choice of a bourbon old-fashioned or gin cucumber lavender champagne.

As the newlyweds partied late into the night with their loved ones, they enjoyed burgers, sandwiches and fries from Boston’s Baddest Burger food truck.

Jennifer Lawrence’s Wedding Registry

Given the couple’s love of hosting, their wedding registry included a number of picks to enhance their dinner parties. Included on the list was Joy of Cooking, a classic kitchen cookbook. She also registered for Shun’s top-notch chef’s knife, the dutch oven from Le Creuset and Marcato’s Atlas pasta machine.

“I love trying new recipes, so it’s important to have the right tools in the kitchen,” she said in the release to The Knot and others. “Cooking for two is always more fun!”

To enhance her kitchen, the bride also selected a marble rolling pin from Fox Run, a matching cheese slicer from the same brand and a marble serving board from Anolon. Beyond cooking essentials, she also registered for AirPods, a Kindle and a cashmere travel set—all of which she’ll likely use on her honeymoon with Maroney.

The Rehearsal Dinner

Lawrence and Maroney kicked off their wedding weekend by hosting a traditional New England clambake rehearsal dinner on Friday, October 18. Over 140 guests attended the lavish welcome party on Rose Island, including Kris Jenner and Adele.
