Jennifer Lopez Likes to Wear Barbra Streisand’s Face and Honestly, Same
You probably never noticed your sweatshirt was missing Barbra Streisand’s face until you saw a sweatshirt with Barbra Streisand’s face on it. That’s exactly how I felt when I took one look at the latest Coach campaign starring Jennifer Lopez. In it, she’s grinning ear-to-ear with a smile so big it can only possibly be due to the fact that she’s wearing Barbra Streisand’s face on her chest. I want to be that happy but all sweatshirts have paled in comparison since. Actually, most of them have made me frown because they don’t have Streisand’s face on them and that just doesn’t seem like much fun.
Coach’s spring 2020 collection was a love letter to New York, with a runway that took place on the High Line in Midtown. There were o Americana, with lots of prairie dressing, but there were plenty of leather moto jackets to give that distinct New York edge. Stuart Vevers partneith the estate of Richard Bernstein who illustrated some of Interview’s most iconic covers, and the result was portraits of stars like Michael J. Fox, Barbra Streisand, and Rob Lowe printed on top-handle bags and simple tees. The Streisand pieces, though, seems to be the most popular.
Of course, that’s not surprising. This is Barbra! Streisand! The woman has every award known to man. Her voice! Her hair! HER FACE! It’s all just too much. She’s so major that when she posted a photo on Instagram with Timothee Chalamet, arguably the most famous person of the moment, you probably thought he was just another little boy. Speaking of Streisand’s Instagram, that’s a treasure in itself. On Valentine’s Day she dedicated a post to both her husband and her fluffy white dog. The man she’s married to just got one post and he had to share it with Sammie. Oh, and did we mention that she has cloned her dog? Well she has. Give this woman another award because why not.
Whether you’ve been a fan of Streisand for years, saw both Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lopez sporting her face, or are just learning about her magic now, score the Streisand sweater before it sells out. Although, ‘sold-out Streisand sweater’ has a nice ring to it too.
