Jennifer Lopez Recalls the Polite Way Matthew McConaughey Approached Their Wedding Planner Kiss

Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey picked up right where they left off for The Wedding Planner's 20th reunion. The pair reunited via Instagram Live on January 26 to catch up, relive old moments, and reminisce about what's, hands down, one of the best romantic comedies ever made. The 2001 movie was a bona fide hit, grossing more than $94 million worldwide. It led to Lopez and McConaughey being household names and rom-com staples. Basically, The Wedding Planer walked so How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Monster-in-Law could run.

“Can you believe it's been 20 years since we did The Wedding Planner?” Lopez asked McConaughey, who replied, “Not when you say it like that. Twenty years. I was doing the math. That's a while ago.”

Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey continued to chat about their undeniable chemistry. “I so enjoyed working with you,” she revealed. “We had such a nice rapport and chemistry. We were somewhat at the beginning of our careers at that time. It was exciting to be working on any movie. I still feel that way. It was a magical time. I'm such a romantic too that working on those types of movies have a real feel for me.” McConaughey praised her work ethic on set, saying, “You prepare so well for everything you do. I love your intentionality. I love how deliberate you are.” 

The real memorable moment was, of course, the movie's romantic kiss scene. “Just yesterday we were in the middle of that field with the movie theater. Do you remember doing that scene where you were about to kiss me?” Lopez asked. “And I remember you saying to me, I don't know if you remember this…You said, ‘Ms. Lopez, I'm going to kiss you now.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, let's do it. Let's kiss.’ I remember that clearly.” Um, this should be the standard!
