If this halftime performance news weren’t exciting enough, J. Lo and Shakira juuust might be joined by a very special guest on that Super Bowl stage. Nope, it isn’t Rihanna, y’all (sorry)—it’s Ricky freakin’ Martin! The Latin King of Pop and singer of your favorite song from Shrek, “Livin’ la Vida Loca!”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ricky kinda hinted at the fact that he may possibly join J.Lo and Shakira at the halftime show. I mean, it’s obviously the right thing to do considering that Ricky Martin had one of the first major Latin hits to cross over to American pop charts!

“Maybe I’ll fly to Miami. Maybe...I’ll be there. I don’t know, we’ll see what happens,” he said. “But it’s really nice when you can, you know, mix such a powerful event with sports, it’s a very beautiful...and cultural event as well. And now the fact that they’re opening the doors to Latin sounds to be part of the celebration, it’s something that I’m having a really, really good time with.”

Hmmm. The fact of the matter here is that Ricky could have easily said no when asked if was going to be joining in the halftime show, but obviously, he didn’t. So let’s just wait and see what this means for Super Bowl 2020!

Ever since Maroon 5’s 2019 Super Bowl halftime show came and went, people have been trying to guess who the NFL and Pepsi will spotlight in 2020. Rihanna and Cardi B have been popular guesses, but their distaste for how the NFL has handled the whole Colin Kaepernick situation put all speculation to rest. Now, after months and months of guessing, we finally have an answer for who will take the stage between all the commercials and the two groups of guys tossing around a ball for three hours.

I don’t think you’re ready for the gift that’s about to be bestowed upon us, but JENNIFER LOPEZ and SHAKIRA will be the halftime show performers! I repeat: JENNIFER LOPEZ and SHAKIRA!!!!

No, this is not some sick joke or fake news. I'm giving it to you straight, and Jennifer and Shakira even confirmed it on their Twitter accounts this afternoon. Jennifer posted a photo of Shakira from the mouth down and wrote, “This is happening. 02.02.20.” And Shakira posted a photo of J.Lo from the mouth down and captioned it, “Get ready 02.02.20.” Put two and two together: They’re both performing. I know they said to get ready, but I was born ready for this, so let’s gooooooo.

In a press release, J.Lo said:

This Super Bowl is on February 2, 2020 this year and kicks off at 6:30 ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. If you can’t even muster up one minute of your life to about football, then tune in, like, an hour or so after it starts to catch J.Lo and Shakira do the damn thing. My body is ready!!!!!!
