For over two decades, Jennifer Lopez has been a mainstay in pop culture.

"My mom used to say that olive oil was the cure-all for everything," she says. "And it’s a secret I’ve used over the years because it really does work. So, when we went to do this, that was the first thing I said: it has to have olive oil extract as a basis."

The olive complex found in JLo Beauty is a four-part blend of squalane, fermented oil, and extra virgin oil and leaf extract that help deliver antioxidants to the skin. In clinical trials, it has proven to help give all-day moisture, leading to an overall dewy, glowy complexion.

Aside from swearing by olive oil, SPF has also played a major role in J.Lo's beauty regimen for about as long as she can remember. "I used it as my moisturizer every single day," she says, recalling growing up in the Bronx. "So it helped me protect myself from the elements. I don't think people understand it's such a big part of staying youthful. Girls should start using it from when they start skincare — 12, 13, 14, 15 years old."

While it's hard to play favorites with her latest babies, the star admits that the serum and capsules are among the key products in the line.

"For me, it's a pump and a pill," Lopez says. "If you do a pump of the serum, and a pill every single day, you're gonna see a real, real improvement in your skin over time. Beauty from the inside out was always my philosophy."

Overall, after using her own line every day for quite some time now, when she looks in the mirror, the first thing she thinks is, "Wow." And I think we can all agree.

"My skin is really beautiful without the makeup all the time, which is nice," she admits. "And it feels bouncy, hydrated, looks luminous — like glowy — and that's what I wanted to deliver."

As for the future of J.Lo Beauty? Expect to see the collection grow into the haircare sector in the near future. "It's not just my face that takes a beating all the time with work," she tells InStyle. "My hair takes an extra beating with all the heat and tools and stuff."
