A “Jeopardy!” contestant is being
ridiculed by music fans after making
an “unforgivable” on-air mistake.
The now-viral mishap occurred on
the April 29 episode of the game show.
during a round of questions based on the Billboard Music Awards.
One of those questions proved particularly difficult for one contestant, Alwin Hui.
who ultimately confused a video of
Janet Jackson for singer Ariana Grande.
“As the recipient of the 2018 Icon Award,
she took ‘control’ & took to the stage in her
first live TV performance in nearly a decade,”.
the question, which was followed by a
brief clip of Jackson’s performance, stated.
Hui quickly buzzed in first and guessed
Ariana Grande, after which host
Alex Trebek simply replied, “No”.
The exchange led to outrage and confusion from several of Jackson’s fans, who failed
to see how Hui could make such a mistake.
