With $100,000 and a spot in the Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions on the line, Brown University first-year student Justin Bolsen is heading into the final night of the two-night Jeopardy! High School Reunion final holding on to a chance at winning.

Competing against Jackson Jones, a junior at Vanderbilt University, and Maya Wright, a senior at Emory University, Bolsen took an early lead on Wednesday but lost it on the final Jeopardy! question with an incorrect answer that slid him into second place.

Instead, Jones, who was the favorite heading into the match-up, took first place. The current standings are Jones with $24,000, Bolsen with $13,570 and Wright with $3,370.

The scores of the Wednesday match and the upcoming Thursday match will be combined to determine the winner.

What would it take for Bolsen to win?

According to the website thejeopardyfan.com, which keeps stats on all things Jeopardy! one of Bolsen's strongest attributes as a contestant is that he's prepared to bet big, especially when he gets a Daily Double. In every game he's played, he's found and taken at least one Daily Double as a true Daily Double, meaning he bets everything. This has largely been a successful tactic for him.

His challenge is that Jones, currently in the lead, has been quicker on the buzzer throughout the tournament and has a higher average of correct answers. The odds currently put Jones's chance of winning at just over 50%.

Wright is not to be counted out either.

Who is Jeopardy! contestant Justin Bolsen?

Bolsen, a Canton, Georgia native, was first on Jeopardy! in the 2019 Tournament of Teens. He didn't make it past the first round of that tournament, which he's admitted was very nerve-wracking for him.

Now, he's studying economics and international and public affairs at Brown University. During the interview segment, he quipped that his favorite place to study is "the most isolated spot" on campus.
