Almost a year after The Jeremy Kyle Show was taken off air by ITV following the death of one of its guests, Jeremy Kyle is set to make his comeback.

Kyle, who also presents the ITV series The Kyle Files, was announced as a new client of celebrity PR and management company The Can Group earlier today (February 27). The group currently looks after the likes of Peter Andre and Hollyoaks' Stephanie Davis.

Although his return to TV hasn't yet been confirmed, Claire Powell told Instagram followers that the controversial presenter will "be back soon" to share his story following his show's axe last year.

In a statement celebrating Kyle's CV – including presenting on This Morning and Good Morning Britain, hosting on numerous radio shows and writing columns for newspapers –as well as his personal life, Claire wrote: "A committed father and family man, he's also a cancer survivor who has miraculously just welcomed a new son (and grandson!) into the world.

"After a year spent battling the unimaginable consequences of a devastating tragedy, Jeremy Kyle will be back soon to have his say: WATCH THIS SPACE!"

Joining the ranks of former Love Island and Apprentice contestants, Kyle's team-up with Can represents a new era for the broadcaster.

A return to ITV is likely on the cards, with the channel's boss Kevin Lygo confirming last year that they do not hold Kyle "in any bad way" following the sad death of Steve Dymond.

"We will just have to have a look because [Jeremy] is a consummate broadcaster and it would be absolutely wrong to apportion blame of the show against the presenter of it," he said. "We will look to find another show with him, but I think it is unlikely it will go in the same slot."
