Jeremy Lin doesn’t think Stephen Curry needs a Finals MVP to prove his greatness

During Game 1 of the NBA finals, Chinese American basketball player Jeremy Lin voiced his opinion about how the current championship series will impact the legacy of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry.

Curry spent his entire 13-year career on the Warriors, racking up three championship berths, back-to-back MVP honors and led his 2015-16 squad to the best regular season record in NBA history.

He has also established himself as one of best 3-point shooters ever, setting both regular-season and career records in 3-pointers made.

Lin believes regardless of the outcome of this year’s NBA finals, Curry has already cemented his legacy as one of the greatest Warriors to ever play the game, tweeting, “I hope Steph Curry wins the championship and finals MVP. But make no mistake about it, he does NOT need a finals MVP to validate his career by any means.”

Jeremy Lin’s ties with the Golden State Warriors run deep. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Lin grew up with posters of his hometown team on his wall. Lin would eventually jumpstart his basketball career on the Warriors after receiving a partially guaranteed two-year deal before taking the basketball world by the storm as a New York Knick and winning an NBA championship of his own as a Toronto Raptor.
