Jeremy Lin says his basketball future remains uncertain after horrific head injury

Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers star Jeremy Lin’s future in basketball has become uncertain following a head injury during Sunday’s game against the Formosa Taishin Dreamers.

Lin, 34, was injured while contesting a rebound against his former Brooklyn Nets teammate Chris McCullough, who now plays for the Formosa Taishin Dreamers.

As McCullough was coming down from his jump, his elbow inadvertently collided with Lin's face, causing the latter to collapse to the ground and hit his head.

A video of the incident also shows that Lin's fingers were unnaturally bent following the collision, which many have attributed to the fencing response position, one of the signs doctors use to determine the severity of a traumatic brain injury (TBI), such as a concussion.

While still in a daze, Lin was able to get up from the court with help. He was taken to a local hospital for medical attention and was later spotted back on the bench watching his team lose against the Formosa Taishin Dreamers.

During a post-game press conference, Lin admitted that his injury has brought about uncertainty regarding his future in basketball.

“I can't promise that I will continue to play ball next year,” Lin told reporters. “This is something that is decided year-by-year."

With a final score of 89 – 92, his team's recent loss marked their final run in Taiwan’s P. League+ this season.

The man behind "Linsanity" was credited for helping the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers become a playoff contender team.

Before Sunday's game, Lin helped his team secure a tied spot with the Formosa Taishin Dreamers when he dropped a triple-double performance (11 assists, 10 rebounds and 50 points) against the New Taipei Kings in late April.
