Jeremy Renner offers health update after accident

Marvel star Jeremy Renner has broken his silence after being injured in an unfortunate accident.

The Hawkeye star shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed, along with a brief message to thank his fans for their support since he was injured on Sunday (January 1).

"Thank you all for your kind words. 🙏. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all," he wrote.

A representative for the actor previously confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter, saying: "We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while plowing snow earlier today.

"His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care."

The accident occurred on Sunday morning at the actor's home near Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe in Nevada. The region had been hit with a storm over the New Year weekend.

Local public information officer Kristin Vietti added to THR that Renner was the only person involved in the accident, with the actor being airlifted to hospital.

On Monday, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference where they confirmed that Renner had been struck by a rolling snowplow while trying to help a relative get to their car.

"We do not believe Mr Renner was impaired at all and we believe this is a tragic accident," a police spokesperson said.

Renner had previously shared images of the weather conditions across his social media accounts, tweeting a photo of a car covered in snow last month.

Renner is best known for playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye across the MCU, recently appearing in his own spin-off series Hawkeye on Disney+.

The actor is currently starring in crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown, with a second season set to air in the US on January 15, and in the UK a day later.

The actor also has his show Rennvervations airing on Disney+ this year. The four-part series will see him fixing rundown vehicles, giving them a new life for communities in need.

Renner had teased the upcoming series on his Twitter account, writing: "I’m so excited for the holidays . And a NEW show on @DisneyPlus early next year. #rennervations."

Rennervation will be on Disney+ early this year, while Hawkeye is available to stream in full on the service now.
