Jeremy Renner’s sister has given an update on the actor’s recovery following his snow plough incident on New Year’s Day.

The Hawkeye star was severely injured after the six-tonne machine crushed him at his home near Lake Tahoe. He was then airlifted to hospital with “blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries”.

Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam has since confirmed that at the time of the incident, Renner was assisting a family member as they attempted to free a vehicle stuck in the snow.

Now his sister Kym offered an update on behalf of the Marvel star, saying that they are “thrilled” with his progress and were hopeful he would continue to make positive strides toward a full recovery.

Speaking with People Magazine, she said he was “crushing all the progress goals”.

She told the outlet: “We couldn’t feel more positive about the road ahead. If anyone knows Jeremy, he is a fighter and doesn’t mess around.”
