Jerrod Niemann and Wife Morgan Divorce: 'We Have Decided to Move Forward Separately'

This ride is over for Jerrod Niemann and wife Morgan Petek: the couple have divorced after 13 years together.

“After spending over a decade together, we have decided to move forward separately,” the couple — who wed four years ago — tell PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “We have learned and grown into the people we are today. We wish each other all the best in the future.”

Niemann, 39, and Petek, 37, were married in Puerto Rico in October 2014. They have no children together.

Nash Country Daily reports that Petek, a nurse practitioner, filed in June of last year, with the divorce becoming final this past December.

Having scored a number of hits such as “Drink to That All Night” and “Lover, Lover” earlier in his career, Niemann turned introspective for his 2017 album This Ride.

“Lyrically, these songs are deeper than the previous records, just because I’m married now,” he told PEOPLE in 2017. “There’s another layer of the onion that I would like everybody to see that maybe you didn’t even know existed or that just matured over the last couple of years.”
