Jerry Stackhouse: Vanderbilt basketball center Liam Robbins 'probably' out for season with injury

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Vanderbilt basketball coach Jerry Stackhouse said in his postgame radio interview Wednesday that center Liam Robbins would "probably" miss the rest of the season with a lower leg injury suffered in a win over Kentucky at Rupp Arena.

Robbins was hurt four minutes into the game, grabbing at his right lower leg, and had to be helped off the court.

"It's so disappointing for for him, it's a lower leg injury that's probably going to sideline him for the rest of the season," Stackhouse said. " ... He gave us all he had, he helped helped us get into the position that we're in right now. With the outlook going forward, we just got to keep him in your prayers, man."

In the postgame press conference, Stackhouse said the program would know further details Thursday.

Robbins was averaging 15.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game before the injury. He had previously missed four games this season with an ankle injury.

He scored two points against the Wildcats as Vanderbilt (17-13, 10-7 SEC) won the game, 68-66, for its first victory at Rupp Arena since 2007.
