Sep. 20—A New Jersey teenager died Monday morning after a box truck she drove rolled over on I-70 near Manhattan.

Isabella L. Carroll, 18, of Hackensack, New Jersey, was driving a 2019 International Box Truck, rented from Ryder, at 6:15 a.m. west on I-70 when the vehicle traveled into the center median several times for an "unknown reason" before rolling over, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.

The truck came to rest on its passenger side in the median at the 317.4 milepost, about 4 miles east of the K-177 exit.

Responders pronounced Carroll dead on the scene. She wasn't wearing a seat belt.

Emergency responders transported two passengers — Joshua A. Mejias Ramos, 23, of Philadelphia and Brian Cordero Nunez, 22, of Patterson, New Jersey — to Ascension Via Christi Hospital for suspected minor injuries. They also weren't wearing seat belts.
