Jessica Chastain Mentors a Struggling Sophie Turner in New Mysterious Dark Phoenix Trailer

Sophie Turner‘s transformation from Jean Grey to The Phoenix will be the main plot in the upcoming action-packed X-Men: Dark Phenix, and she is receiving a helping hand from Jessica Chastain.

In the newest trailer for the X-Men film released Wednesday, Turner is shown as the center of all the action, which is an adaptation of one of the comic’s most popular storylines. With Turner struggling to control her new abilities, X-Men newbie Chastain is acting as a mentor to the red-headed mutant, although her character’s intentions are unclear.

Chastain is seen in the trailer taking Turner under her wing, and giving a bold statement to the young telepath, saying, “The X-Men fear you and what they fear…” “They seek to destroy,” Turner as Grey interrupts.

The trailer also shows the new Phoenix facing off against her former allies, including Jennifer Lawrence‘s Mystique. The film also marks the return of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, and Evan Peters.

In addition to her pivotal role in Dark Phoenix, Turner is enjoying huge success on the small screen, with her role as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones giving her national recognition. After the series’ final season premiere on Sunday, Turner remains in the running for the Iron Throne, although only time will tell if she makes it out alive.

While her roles in X-Men and Game of Thrones may not end in a happy ending, Turner has achieved so in her personal life with her current fiancé Joe Jonas, who she got engaged to in October 2017. The pair have not yet set a wedding date, but they have given details on what is needed for the exciting day.

“I mean, we are getting married in France, so a lot of Coors Light is necessary,” Jonas said in an interview on the Zach Sang Show. “Not hard, really, to get that, but we needed to make sure that was going to happen.”

Turner also appeared in the Jonas Brother‘s new music video “Sucker,” alongside her fellow “J Sisters” Danielle Jonas and Priyanka Chopra. The couples most recently came together at a Penn State University bar, where the brothers performed and surprised the crowd.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix arrives in theaters on June 7.
