Jessica Simpson joins Pink, disables Instagram comments after mom shaming

Jessica Simpson has been the recent target of some nasty mommy shaming.

The singer-turned-fashion-designer and mom with husband Eric Johnson has made us laugh with her Instagram pregnancy posts and then, too, has endured attacks for her parenting choices with daughter Maxwell, 7; son Ace, 6; and baby Birdie Mae, 4 months.

Recently, the trolls took issue with Simpson letting her 7-year-old daughter Maxwell dye her hair in a style similar to the purple mane of Mal, Dove Cameron's character in Disney Channel's "Descendants" film franchise.

But Simpson has stopped allowing the parenting police to have their say. She disabled her Instagram comments — just like Pink did when it comes to her posts featuring her children.

The two seem to be backing each other: moms in solidarity.

Pink dyed her 8-year-old daughter Willow's hair blue to defend Simpson. The singer posted photos of herself doing the dye job on Instagram with the hashtags "blue hair don't care," "get your own kids" and "parent police are actually just lonely sad people."

Pink turned off comments for that post.

It's not entirely clear exactly when Simpson disabled her Instagram comments. Older comments exists on some posts. Simpson doesn't give a reason.

Simpson, 39, doesn't often respond to mom-shamers, but she did when parents voiced concerns over a photo of baby Birdie asleep on her stomach. Parents had reminded her that pediatricians recommend infants sleep on their backs.

She posted a photo of Birdie on her back and wrote, "I like to pose on my belly, but I love to sleep on my back."
