Jessica Simpson revealed that her father Joe Simpson has been fighting bone cancer.

The singer-turned-reality star-turned-fashion mogul shared the news in a recent social media post about a birthday moment with her eldest daughter, Maxwell.

“She told me after she blew out HER 11 candles … ‘I made a wish that was for me and you and actually the whole family,’” Simpson captioned an Instagram post of her daughter joyfully lifting her up over the weekend. “I said Maxi it should be your wish and she said ‘we have the same wishes Mom.’”

The mom of three went on to say that her firstborn revealed that her birthday wish came true earlier in the week.

“3 days later on our way back to Cali she overheard me reading a text from my Dad and asked my mom sitting next to her ‘GiGi if my birthday wish came true already can I say it out loud or do I still keep it to myself?’ My mom told her to share it with everyone if she wanted to, especially if it had already come true,” Simpson wrote. “Maxwell’s birthday wish was for her Papa Joe’s bone cancer treatment to work. It did. Thank you Maxi Drew for usin’ your wish on our family and most importantly, my Dad.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, bone cancer makes up less than 1% of all cancers and can be treated with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation.

Joe Simpson, who guided the careers of his daughters Jessica and Ashlee, gained popularity on their respective reality TV shows “Newlyweds” and “The Ashlee Simpson Show.”

The 65-year-old San Antonio, Texas, native has also worked as a professional photographer and executive produced the 2022 E! reality show “Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules.”

Married to his wife, Tina, for 34 years before divorce, the former Baptist minister battled prostate cancer in 2016 and 2017.

In April, he joined Eris Talent Agency as chief operating officer.
