Jessie J sidesteps awkward Channing Tatum chat on 'This Morning'

Jessie J quickly shut down Ben Shephard when he tried to talk about her romance with Channing Tatum on This Morning, warning him: “Stay focussed.”

The singer, 31, was on the ITV programme ahead of the finale of The Voice Kids, which she is a judge on.

But Shephard could not resist bringing up Magic Mike star Tatum, who Jessie has been dating for several months.

The presenter, who was filling in for Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes alongside Jenni Falconer, was talking about the talented youngsters on The Voice Kids when he changed direction and referred to the stage adaption of 2012 male stripper film Magic Mike.

“A few months ago we had a big performance here in the This Morning studio, the Magic Mike, the whole lot turned up,” he said.

“I’ve not seen this Jessie.

“Jenni has been invited.

“You obviously got to see it recently with Mike [Tatum] himself.”

The singer offered only a brief “I did”, so, undeterred, Shephard continued: “That’s a performance that seems to be quite…”

But Jessie quickly shut him down by interrupting and saying: “The opposite of The Voice Kids.

“Let’s stay focussed on The Voice Kids.”

Keeping his composure, Shephard started talking to Falconer about the stage show and she told him “there’s a massive big party coming up and you get to meet the guys that are dancing after”.

“So it’s a meet and greet?” said Shephard. “There’s various different ways of performing isn’t there and that’s a very different one.”

Refusing to be drawn, Jessie took it straight back to her TV show.

“Yes, I mean The Voice Kids is insane and I’ve loved every second of doing it, and I’m so excited for the finale tomorrow,” she plowed on.

Jessie and Tatum started dating last year.

The couple are believed to have got together a few months after Tatum split from his wife, actress Jenna Dewan.
