Jets full 2023 schedule with predictions from Daily News’ Antwan Staley

The Jets will have one of the most rigid schedules in the league as they will play all the teams from the AFC West and the NFC East.

Gang Green will also play the Falcons from the NFC South and the Browns from the AFC North.

After finishing 7-10 last season, the Jets have high expectations after acquiring Aaron Rodgers in a trade with the Packers. But the Jets will have to get through a tough AFC East division featuring the Bills and Dolphins, who made the playoffs a year ago, and the pesky Patriots.

In a critical year for Robert Saleh and Joe Douglas, how will the 2023 season shake out for the Jets? The Daily News makes early predictions on the full schedule:

WEEK 1: vs. Buffalo Bills

Sept. 11, 8:15 p.m., ESPN (Monday Night Football)

The Jets get a measuring stick game to open the season against a Bills team who has won the division for three consecutive years. Gang Green pulled off the upset the last time teams played at MetLife Stadium. Can the Jets do it again?

Prediction: Jets 24, Bills 21

Week 2: at Dallas Cowboys

Sept. 17, 4:25 p.m., CBS

The Jets first road trip of 2023 will be against America’s Team at AT&T Stadium. Dallas made the playoffs last season and defeated Tampa Bay in the Wild-Card round before losing to San Francisco in the NFC Divisional Round.

Prediction: Cowboys 27, Jets 21

Week 3: vs New England Patriots

Sept. 24, 1 p.m., CBS

The Patriots have defeated the Jets 14 consecutive times. Can Gang Green finally beat New England for the first time since 2015?

Week 4: vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Oct. 1, 8:20 p.m., NBC (Sunday Night Football)

In their first Sunday Night Football game since 2011, the Jets will host the defending Super Bowl Champions. Rodgers vs. Patrick Mahomes will have a ton of build-up and hype.

Prediction: Chiefs 34, Jets 24

Week 5: at Denver Broncos

Oct. 8, 4:25 p.m., CBS

The Jets and the Broncos had a defensive battle in the Mile High City a season ago. Denver was without quarterback Russell Wilson, who missed the game due to injury.

Week 6: vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Oct. 15, 4:25 p.m., FOX

The Jets have already played the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs, and now they will host the runner-up and NFC Champion Eagles.

Week 8: at New York Giants

Big brother versus little brother always makes for an exciting matchup when the Jets and Giants face off. The Giants are coming off their first playoff appearance since 2016.

Nov. 6, 8:15 p.m., ESPN (Monday Night Football)

Rodgers against budding star Justin Herbert could make for fireworks on both sides of the ball.

Week 10: at Las Vegas Raiders

Nov. 12, 8:20 p.m., (Sunday Night Football)

Las Vegas has a new quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo. The Raiders hope that Garoppolo can help them improve from a 6-11 season. This will be the first meeting between Rodgers and his former Packers teammate Davante Adams.

Prediction: Jets 31, Raiders 20

Week 11: at Buffalo Bills

Nov. 19, 4:25 p.m., CBS

Last year’s meeting was a cold, rainy affair in which the Bills won by eight points. This game could decide who wins the AFC East.

Week 12: vs Miami Dolphins (Black Friday)

Nov. 24, 3 p.m., Amazon Prime Video

The Dolphins and Jets split last season’s meetings, but quarterback Tua Tagovailoa missed both games due to two separate concussions.

Prediction: Jets 28, Dolphins 24

Week 13: vs Atlanta Falcons

Dec. 3, 1 p.m., FOX

The Falcons finished in last place in a subpar NFC South last season. However, Atlanta has made a number of changes on both sides of the ball including selecting running back Bijan Robinson in last month’s draft.

Gang Green will host a rebuilding Texans team with No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud and No. 3 overall pick Will Anderson.

Week 15: at Miami Dolphins

Dec. 17, 1:00 p.m., CBS

The Dolphins and Jets both figure to be playoff contenders this upcoming season. This game in Miami could go a long way in determining if the AFC East could have two or three playoff teams

Week 16: vs. Washington Commanders

Washington finished in last place in a stacked NFC East with an 8-8-1 mark. Can the Jets enter the holiday season on a positive note?

Week 17: at Cleveland Browns

Dec. 28, 8:15 p.m., Amazon Prime Video

Last season, the Jets came back from down 13 points with less than two minutes left to win the game. Deshaun Watson is expected to start for the Browns in this meeting after he was suspended for the first 11 games of the 2022 season.

The Jets haven’t swept the Patriots since 2000. Gang Green hasn’t defeated the Patriots in New England since 2010.

The Jets are trying to finish the story and make the playoffs for the first time since 2010. Last season left a bitter taste in the the Jets players and coaches mouths after they ended the year 7-10 after coming into the month of December 7-4.

Although some fans might disagree with this prediction, the Jets have a tough schedule to get through and a difficult division. But who cares what the record is as long as the Jets make the postseason party.

With a quarterback like Rodgers and the players they have, the Jets will have a fighting chance in the AFC with the Chiefs, Bengals and Bills.
