CHARGERS PLAYER TO WATCH: QB Justin Herbert. He's averaging 270 yards passing per game, which ranks sixth in the league, and both of his 300-yard games this season have come on the road. Herbert passed for 366 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions the previous time he faced the Jets in 2020. He needs 11 completions to reach 1,500 for his career and become the fastest player in NFL history to reach that milestone. Monday night is his 57th game. Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford both did it in their 62nd games.

JETS PLAYER TO WATCH: QB Zach Wilson. The third-year quarterback has modest numbers — five TDs and five INTs — but has been picked off just once in his past four games. He has thrown for 240 yards or more just twice this season since taking over for the injured Aaron Rodgers. He has a chance to better that total Monday night when he faces the worst-ranked passing defense in the league.

KEY MATCHUP: Chargers pass rushers Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa vs. Jets' offensive line. Mack has seven sacks and Bosa four as they continue to be trouble for quarterbacks. The Jets' shuffled O-line will have its hands full as they'll start their fifth set of five starters in eight games because of injuries.

KEY INJURIES: Chargers WR Joshua Palmer was ruled out with a knee injury. ... LB Eric Kendricks (ribs) was listed as questionable, but was a full participant at practice Saturday. ... TE Gerald Everett was inactive last week because of a hip injury, but practiced fully all week and was removed from the injury report. ... Jets rookie C Joe Tippmann missed last week with a quadriceps injury, but fully practiced Saturday and was taken off the injury report. He'll likely start at center for the injured Connor McGovern. ... WR Allen Lazard (knee) and S Adrian Amos (ankle) were added to the injury report Saturday and listed as questionable. ... OT Duane Brown (hip/shoulder) returned to practice Thursday and fully participated all week, but was not activated from IR to play Monday night.

SERIES NOTES: The Chargers have won the past four meetings. ... The teams have squared off twice on “Monday Night Football,” with the Chargers having won both. ... The squads have faced each other in the playoffs, with the Jets coming out on top on the road in both — 20-17 in OT in January 2005 and 17-14 in January 2010.

STATS AND STUFF: Los Angeles has won three of its past four on Monday night, but is 3-7 in its past 10. ... Chargers coach Brandon Staley is 1-2 against AFC East teams. This will be the first time he has faced the Jets. ... Los Angeles' plus-6 turnover differential is tied for fourth best in the league. ... Austin Ekeler is the sixth running back in the Super Bowl era with at least 30 receiving touchdowns, tied with James Brooks and Brian Westbrook for the fourth most. He'll tie Keith Byars for third most with his next TD catch. Only Marshall Faulk (36) and Darren Sproles (32) have more. ... Ekeler has scored five touchdowns in his past four Monday night games. ... WR Keenan Allen is tied for eighth in the league with 54 receptions, including three games with eight or more catches. He needs 70 yards receiving to reach 10,000. That would make him the fastest Chargers player to reach that mark, doing so in his 134th game. ... TE Donald Parham already has a career high in touchdowns with four. ... The defense has 14 sacks on third down, the second most in the league. ... Mack’s seven sacks are tied for fifth in the AFC. He has seven tackles for loss in his past four games. ... The game marks the Jets' second appearance this season on “Monday Night Football,” with the first coming in Rodgers' debut with New York in the season opener against Buffalo during which he tore his left Achilles tendon. ... The Jets have a three-game winning streak and are looking to win four in a row for the first time since they did it in Weeks 4-7 last season. ... RB Breece Hall has a TD in each of New York's past three wins, tied for the fifth-longest active streak in the league. ... Hall leads the NFL with 5.7 yards per carry and has two of the three longest runs this season. ... The Jets rank last in the NFL in third down and red zone conversion percentage. ... The Jets held the Giants to minus-9 net yards passing, tied for the fewest allowed since 2000. ... The Jets haven't allowed a 300-yard passer in 25 straight games, the second-longest streak in the NFL behind only New Orleans (29). ... LB Quincy Williams was selected the AFC defensive player of the month of October and is the only player in the NFL this season to have at least 70 tackles, eight tackles for loss and two sacks. ... P Thomas Morstead dropped a career-best and franchise-record three punts inside the Giants 5 last Sunday. He was selected the AFC special teams player of the week for the seventh time in his career. ... Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrelle Revis will receive his Hall of Fame ring during a halftime ceremony. The former cornerback and four-time All-Pro played for the Jets from 2007-12 and 2015-16.

FANTASY TIP: Garrett Wilson is New York's No. 1 receiver and has only two TD catches, but is a standout lately in points per receptions leagues. Wilson has 15 catches for 190 yards in his past two games and should find more success in this one while facing the Chargers' struggling pass defense.
