For Jevon Holland, Pro Bowl, All-Pro, more entirely possible as Miami Dolphin

MIAMI GARDENS — Want to buy a Dolphins jersey?

May I suggest #8.

That's Jevon Holland, aka, The Snowman. Get it? He's from Canada.

And take a closer look at the number 8.

Yes, please, please take a look at 8.

Holland is going to be a great one. He should be a Pro Bowler. He may be a future All-Pro. Hell, he may be an all-time great.

That's how much talent he possesses.

Mike McDaniel not just about Tua: He set out to be coach for offense, defense

No. 6 is Jevon Holland: Top 25 Miami Dolphins players countdown

Assuming he stays healthy and stays on track physically and mentally and stays confident but not cocky, Holland can do anything he wants.

He is fast. He is physical. He's got instincts. And ball skills. And the clutch gene.

Holland is so, so dangerous. How dangerous? What if I told you he intercepted Tua Tagovailoa three times in two days this week?

And what if I told you he stayed with Tyreek Hill and broke up a long pass attempt from Tagovailoa on Wednesday?

"Tremendous," Tagovailoa said.

If you haven't read our profile of Holland from last season, I spoke with a bunch of coaches from his past, including his Dad. I really enjoyed working on this:

Jevon Holland's rising stardom:: From Canada to Oregon and now, Dolphins

Reshad Jones was a very good Dolphins safety, and a Pro Bowler.

But Jones did not have the range Holland has.

He is an incredible weapon on a defense with many of them. Imagine how much fun defensive coordinator Josh Boyer should have deciding who among the likes of Andrew Van Ginkel, Jerome Baker, Melvin Ingram, Jaelan Phillips, Brandon Jones and/or Holland should blitz on any particular down.

And imagine the comfort of knowing that if an opposing receiver somehow gets by Xavien Howard or Byron Jones, Holland is the ultimate centerfielder, ready to demonstrate incredible range and break up a play.

The Dolphins got the Holland pick right. By all means, he should have been a first-rounder. Credit to GM Chris Grier and Miami's scouting department as well as former head coach Brian Flores, Boyer and former defensive backs coach Gerald Alexander.

Whoever among them banged the table for Holland? Kudos.

You could see it when Holland was a rookie. You could see the potential. And now he's putting it all together. Leadership. Communication. One of the most important cogs on what should be an excellent Miami defense.

Holland is a very, very exciting safety. There aren't too many of them.

Miami had one in Minkah Fitzpatrick and it is unfortunate it did not work out in Miami. But Holland could be right there with Fitzpatrick on the next AFC Pro Bowl roster.

Holland belongs mentioned among players like Derwin James and Harrison Smith and Budda Baker. That's because he truly can do it all.

Don't be overly concerned about the fact that Tua was intercepted by Holland three times in two days this week.

Be overly excited about the fact that Holland was an unstoppable force.
