JFK Elementary lockdown lifted after people crash stolen car, flee on Greenwood

Corpus Christi police are searching for multiple suspects who fled the scene of a car crash on Greenwood Drive Tuesday afternoon.

Around 12:20 p.m., officers responded to Greenwood Drive near Gollihar Drive for a vehicle that crashed into a pole, Senior Officer Travis Pace said. Police believe the vehicle was stolen.

According to police, multiple people fled on foot from the vehicle. At least one was taken into custody shortly after the crash. Police are still searching for those who fled.

West Oso ISD's John F. Kennedy Elementary school was on lockdown due to the search, Pace said. A spokesperson for the school said the lockdown was lifted before 2 p.m.
