Jim Kelly's most recent scans came back cancer-free again

Pro Football Hall of Famer Jim Kelly and his family got more good news on Wednesday, as his wife posted on Instagram that Kelly’s scans came back cancer-free once again.

The photo shows Kelly walking and pointing skyward, a white baseball cap on his head.

“Praising God on the streets of NYC!,” Jill Kelly wrote. “Another ‘clean’ scan!!! Thank YOU SO MUCH for praying and standing with us as we continue this journey...one day at a time, one prayer at a time. It all sounds cliche, but it’s true.

“All we have is this moment and what is right in front of us. It’s so each to get caught up in the ‘what if’s’ of tomorrow and totally ignore the gift of RIGHT NOW.

“I was worried about the outcome of the scans. What if...? And the Lord reminded me of the fact that no matter what the outcome, no matter what the scan results showed, God is still GOOD, REGARDLESS...because he is God! And His plans are perfect! He doesn’t make mistakes!”

Over a year cancer-free

The Kellys announced in early 2018 that Jim’s cancer had returned, and on March 28 of last year he underwent 12 hours of surgery to remove the oral cancer and rebuild his upper jaw.

Four months later, they announced that he was cancer free.

It was the third time in five years that he’d been faced with a cancer fight.
