Jimmies men's hockey shut out 2-0 against Minot State

Oct. 29—JAMESTOWN — The No. 10-ranked University of Jamestown came into their matchup against No.1-ranked Minot State University on a nine-game streak in which they have scored at least one goal dating back to last season. That streak ended with a 2-0 loss to the Beavers on Friday, Oct. 28, at John L. Wilson Arena.

After neither team found the net in the first period, the Beavers (7-0) opened the scoring when the Jimmies' Jordan Popoff turned one over in front and the puck stayed in the zone and Landyn Cochrane made him pay making it 1-0 at the 15:25 mark of the first period. Cochrane added another one in the third period to give his team the 2-0 lead.

The Jimmies (4-3) have now lost 10 out of their last 12 games against the Beavers.

The two teams match up again at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at Minot State.
