Just four hours before he was set to take the stage at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Jimmy Buffett has had to call the show off.

Buffett announced that his July 23 performance with the Coral Reefer Band at the East Troy amphitheater was canceled by local authorities due to "impending very bad weather."

"Nobody wants to play for you cheeseheads as much as me and the Coral Reefers," Buffett wrote in a Facebook post. "But, as a pilot, I understand not fooling with bad weather. I also understand how important this show is to our fans who have waited and weathered this covid crap for us to perform. We asked to play tomorrow, but were not granted permission."

The band is rescheduling its show though, for Aug. 20 -- "rain or shine", Buffett promises.

"That gives some of you enough time to recover from three Phish shows to be ready for us," Buffett wrote, referencing a Phish residency at the amphitheater Aug. 12 to 14.

Previously purchased tickets will be honored, and refunds for tickets purchased through Ticketmaster or Live Nation will be available for the next seven days

Buffett wasn't the only big outdoor concert in the Milwaukee area Saturday night.

Country Thunder continued its four-day run in Twin Lakes. Morgan Wallen still headlined at 10 p.m., but prior to that set the festival was briefly evacuated.

The Waukesha County Fair ended early Saturday, at 7 p.m., before Seether's headlining performance. But an Alanis Morissette show at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater still went on with no weather delays.
