Jimmy Butler, Victor Oladipo are out for Pacers vs. Heat with injuries

The Indiana Pacers traded Victor Oladipo in January 2021. He hasn't played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse since.

Oladipo, who hasn't played yet for the Miami Heat this season because of a knee injury, won't make the trip to Indianapolis on Friday night for their game against the Pacers, the team announced. The same goes for Jimmy Butler (hip) and Nikola Jovic (nasal contusion). Omer Yurtseven (toe) has also been ruled out for the Heat, and Bam Adebayo (knee) is questionable.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported this week that Oladipo might not return to the court soon.

Indiana traded Oladipo to the Houston Rockets in a multi-team deal that brought Caris LeVert to the Pacers. Oladipo ended up with the Heat later in the 2020-21 season, and he missed Miami's March 31 game at Indiana.

The Heat played the Pacers three times last season, twice in Indianapolis, and Oladipo was inactive for all of them. He appeared in eight games last season.

The IU All-American, who earned two All-Star berths and an NBA Most Improved Player honor with the Pacers, had some back and forth with Pacers fans on social media during the summer regarding the circumstances of his trade.
