Jimmy Fallon: The queen's not wild about Harry and Meghan

It must take a lot of effort these days for Queen Elizabeth II to maintain her stiff upper lip over the soap opera-esque saga of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's announcement that they were stepping back from royal life was met by an official statement of support from the queen. But behind the resolute public face, her royal majesty has got to be steaming that her family continues to make news for all the wrong reasons.

What's bad news for the queen is great news for the late-night comics in the U.S. who have been having a field day with the melodrama. Stephen Colbert skewers the queen's public statement while Trevor Noah supports Duchess Meghan and Jimmy Fallon slays it with a quip about Prince Harry.

For a country that fought a revolution to rid itself of British royalty, the late-night comics prove that the U.S. is still mighty obsessed about it.
