Jimmy's Pub and Restaurant in Mansfield Saved By Barstool Fund

MANSFIELD, MA — Jimmy's Pub and Restaurant in Mansfield has received a donation from the Barstool Fund, a reserve founded to help support small businesses, to ensure it can remain open despite financial stressors caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pub, located at 141 North Main St., has been a Mansfield establishment for 41 years, after owner George Pantos opened the business at its current location in 1979.

Although Jimmy's Pub and Restaurant incorporated outdoor seating during the summer and fall, state restrictions have forced Pantos to cut hours and restrict capacity to 25%. In response, Pantos submitted a video to the Barstool Fund hoping for financial assistance.

David Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, told Pantos in a video call that the Barstool Fund would assist Jimmy's Pub and Restaurant by funding the establishment once a month until the pandemic is over.

The Barstool Fund has raised over $23 million and funded 119 small businesses all over the country.
