JLCCS and Navarro County Realtors host gingerbread contest

Dec. 27—The Navarro County Board of Realtors partnered with James L. Collins Catholic School by hosting a gingerbread house decorating contest. Each class loved the yummy challenge and built a variety of houses. Then the NCBOR came to campus and judged the houses. Afterwards, they awarded each of the winning classes with a donation to that class's charity of choice. The following charities received financial donations on behalf of NCBOR and JLCCS:

Mrs. Green's 2nd grade class was the overall winner with their gingerbread igloo and chose the Corsicana Animal Shelter.

Mrs. Smith's Pre-K4 class was the lower grades winner with their Rice Krispie yurt village on Richland Chambers lake and chose the United Way of Navarro County.

Mrs. Denis's 4th grade class was the upper grades winner with a two story gingerbread house and chose Make-A-Wish America.

Mrs. Arnold's 7th grade class was the second place winner for the upper grades and chose the Hope Center of Corsicana.

Mrs. Kuchlers Pre-K3 class was the second place winner for the lower grades and chose Cook Children's.

Students at JLCCS loved the opportunity to learn about non-profits and were grateful to the Navarro County Board of Realtors for making donations to these entities.
