JOANN Fabric damaged but only driver injured after car crashes into building Friday

Police say JOANN Fabric was substantially damaged after a driver backed into the store building Friday afternoon.

At around 4:19 p.m. Friday, St. Cloud Police officers responded to a call that someone had backed their vehicle into JOANN Fabrics at 3332 Division St. W. An investigation concluded the driver thought he had put his car in drive rather than reverse. He was cited for careless driving and taken to St. Cloud Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. No one else was hurt, according to police.

JOANN closed the rest of the day Friday, but St. Cloud city officials inspected the building and deemed it structurally safe to reopen, the police department said.
