Joanna and Chip Gaines Threw a Perfectly Designed First Birthday Party for Their Son Crew

The Fixer Upper stars went with a farmhouse-meets-nautical theme for the toddler

We all know Joanna and Chip Gaines have an incredible design following. After all, they made it big as the hosts of HGTV's hit remodeling show Fixer Upper and are set to launch their own design network. But recently, the Magnolia founders revealed that their expertise translates beyond interior decor and into another realm: children's birthday parties.

The couple took to social media to share photos from their youngest son Crew's first birthday party, and it was flawless. Sticking with a nautical theme, they outfitted their farmhouse with paper boats with colorful sails, multicolored mini flag banners, and buoys that read "Crew is 1." There was also a sign on the white shiplap wall with marquee-like lettering that read, "Happy Birthday Crew. We love you."

Outside, more flags and twinkling lights were strung between the trees. Perched on a white blanket, Crew enjoyed his first birthday dessert of a simple white cake with more of those mini flags.

"We had so much fun celebrating his first birthday at the farm, and my favorite part was when he dove face first into his cake," Joanna wrote on her blog. "This little boy is so joyful and so curious and is keeping us on our toes, and it has been so amazing to see him with his brothers and sisters. The addition of Crew to our family has been the greatest gift."

Crew's birthday wasn't the only thing Joanna was celebrating in her post. She also revealed a clip teasing their new network, which will feature programming about everything from homes and gardens to food and wellness.

"We have started the process of exploring ideas for shows and the ways in which we'll curate and produce them," she wrote. "Since we started this journey we've known one thing for certain: we believe there are good stories waiting to be told and we can't wait to tell them."
