On the job shadowing at WHS

Apr. 16—WILLIMANTIC — Not everyone is wired to roam the halls of academia.

For many, picking up a hammer is just as desirable as donning a backpack and going to class.

And according to the company transforming Windham High School from an aging, 1970s-era building into a modern educational institution, those wielding hammers are very much in demand.

" There's a dire need to get young tradesmen into our trade," Downes Construction Co. Lead Project Superintendent John Flis said during a recent visit to the high school, which is located at 355 High St.
