Former Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker has shared her favourite part of life after the show.

The 13th Doctor actor regenerated last year as part of the BBC's Centennial celebrations, thus paving the way for David Tennant and Ncuti Gatwa's special episodes for the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who.

While Jodie has said she feels "grief-stricken" at times about not being The Doctor anymore, she has also told Digital Spy that she likes being able to experience the show purely as a fan once again.

"The best thing about being the Doctor is you're never not the Doctor and I'm clinging to them coattails for the rest of my life.

"I love now I cannot spoil it," she told us. "I can't say anything. I don't know anything that anyone else would know. All I know is from what's already out there. I cannot wait to see it. But I just love that once you're in the family, you're always in the fam.

"So I'm never getting kicked out. But it's just pure joy for me now and tinged with so much grief and sadness that it moves on. That's the thing for me. Ncuti will absolutely smash this and he's such a magical actor and his Doctor will be a phenomenal Doctor. I can't wait. And I already know David's is, because I've seen it. The thing for me is, it's just your happiest time. It's just such a joy of a job."

Jodie also pointed out that she could always get another chance at the role, since David Tennant is now on his second stint as The Doctor.
