Ever since she released her surprise new album, Evermore, fans have been speculating that she and boyfriend of four years Joe Alwyn got married in secret, saying that certain lyrics on the new album hint at a possible marriage between the two. Now, further weight has been given to the theory with Joe's parents refusing to deny that a secret wedding took place.

Taylor (who also made headlines this week with her very Taylor Swift Christmas cards) revealed on Thursday that she would be dropping a surprise album at midnight, telling fans on Twitter, "Surprise, tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my 8th studio album, Folklore; an entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into."

Well, the album has only been out a few hours but fans have already hatched a very plausible theory about a secret wedding between Taylor and Joe. It's all because of one lyric in the track Ivy.

"So tell me to run/Or dare to sit and watch what we'll become/And drink my husband's wine."

Fans immediately picked up on the word "husband" and quickly took to Twitter to theorise that Taylor and Joe have, at some point, got married in a secret ceremony.

Since then the MailOnline spoke to Joe Alwyn's parents, asking about the rumours. To which they responded, "I'm sorry, I'm not going to say anything," which has sent the internet into even more of a tailspin, since it isn't at all a denial of the rumours.

I mean, stranger things have happened...
